The Margaret L. Wendt Foundation Investment Pays Off Big
Buffalo, New York – January 27,2010 –Over 3 years ago newly appointed Executive Director-Nestor Hernandez invited The Margaret L. Wendt Foundation trustees to share in his vision. Today, The Belle Center now actively uses every square inch of its 56,000 square feet.
A $329,341 grant from The Margaret L. Wendt Foundation went to support The Belle Center for its sustainable growth plan on Buffalo’s Lower West Side.
The grant worked to bolster management, update the facility including security enhancements and implement programming to directly meet the needs of the community.
Two weeks ago, trustees from The Margaret L. Wendt foundation visited The Belle Center to see the progress they made possible. They met with newly appointed staff and witnessed the vision in action, as Buffalo AmeriCorps members departed from the Center for direct impact service. An average of 350 people, attend the facility on a daily basis.
