The Great American Clean Up-Lower West Side of Buffalo
Buffalo, New York – June 1, 2012 – With summer in full swing, it’s the perfect time for local volunteers to “hit the streets” of Buffalo for a two-day Great American Clean Up! Volunteers from The Belle Center and local block clubs will spruce up a community garden and vacant lots on the Lower West Side of Buffalo.
This two-day clean-up will take place from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. June 21st & 22nd, 2012 with three stations on both days (1 Community Garden on 7th & Pennsylvania Streets) and (2 Vacant Lots on 7th & Hudson Streets and 7th & Jersey Streets) Buffalo, NY 14201. The purpose of this event is to unite the community while reclaiming and beautifying abandoned gardens and vacant lots on the Lower West Side of Buffalo.
This event is sponsored by The Belle Center- Young Heroes and Buffalo AmeriCorps programs, Keep America Beautiful, various block clubs and other local volunteers. Daytuan Antonetti- the organizer of this event and program director of the Young Heroes stated, “Some people want it to happen, some wish it to happen, others make it happen. So today I ask which one are you? Come join us as we work to beautify our community, eliminate blight, and rejuvenate the spirits of others through a day of service.”
